Visiting antiques fairs & flea markets
Before you go
- Check the organiser's own page the day before โ many fairs run on set dates, not every week, and outdoor fairs can change at short notice.
- Large showground fairs often have an early, pricier entry for trade buyers and a cheaper later entry.
- Bring cash as a back-up even where card is accepted, a bag or trolley, and a tape measure for furniture.
On the day
- Walk the whole fair once before buying; ask dealers about condition and age.
- Polite haggling is normal at most antiques and flea markets.
- Ask whether larger items can be held or delivered.
